2024 Spring

January 2024

In January, we kicked things off at noon with some amazing eats. Lunch at MIB was all about good food and even better company, setting the perfect tone for the afternoon. It's not every day you get to take a midday break that fills your belly and your spirit!

Then, at 13:00, we dove headfirst into the world of Python with our Python in Research Workshop. Whether you were a total newbie to coding or just new to Python, this workshop was the place to be. We got our hands dirty with some real coding, shared a ton of laughs, and learned why Python is such a big deal in the research world. It was all about getting savvy with the latest tech, and let me tell you, we nailed it.

Here is what the schedule looked like:

12:00pm: Lunch at MIB - A midday break for food and thoughts.

1:00pm: Python in Research Workshop at MIB - Time to get savvy with the latest in our field.
In this workshop, you will get practical experience about how to program in Python. Some prior coding experience is required but this could be from different programming languages if you are interested in discovering the benefits of using Python in research.

February 2024

We started off with our usual lunch meetup at 12:00pm, catching up and relaxing together - always a highlight.

Then at 13:00, we dove into the Mental Health Workshop on Stress Drivers. It was all about understanding the deep-seated reasons behind our stress and learning how to handle them. We explored how past experiences influence our decisions and discovered ways to manage stress better.

Here is what the schedule looked like:

12:00pm: Lunch at Psychology - Our regular lunch meetup to network and unwind.

1:00pm: Mental Health Workshop (Stress Drivers) at Psychology
A session to understand and manage the pressures we face. Experiences from our childhood influence us throughout adulthood. Even in later years, we continue to adhere to the dos and don'ts we learned in our youth. These drivers often affect our decision-making and behavior, causing stress at times. In this workshop, you will become acquainted with the different drivers, discover which ones significantly shape your own behaviour, and learn how to use this knowledge to reduce stress.
